The run home towards Hills Football League A-grade finals has commenced, with some important results last Saturday providing a touch of intrigue.

Onka Valley broke through for its first win of the 2022 Division 1 campaign, upsetting Nairne-Bremer by seven points. That result has left the Bremer Rams clinging to fifth spot on the ladder, although nearest challengers Blackwood and Echunga both suffered defeats during Round 10.

Country Division competition is also tightening up, as fourth-placed Gumeracha defeated previous leader Kangarilla for the second occasion this season, while Birdwood crept closer to a possible elimination final berth with a win over Torrens Valley.
