Andrew Bruce has parted company with the Mt Barker Football Club after initially being appointed for a fourth season as A-grade coach.

Mt Barker Football Club have parted ways with A-grade coach Andrew Bruce with some six weeks remaining prior to the commencement of the 2023 Hills league Division 1 season.

Bruce had been reappointed coach of the Barkeroos for a fourth term, having guided the side to fourth, bottom and fourth over the past three years, however, a newly elected committee chose to uphold the decision of the past administration, and advised Bruce earlier this week that it would be pursuing other options for the role.

While acknowledging the difficulty and timing of the decision as pre-season training steps up, the club thanked Bruce for his tireless contribution as it enters the process of choosing a replacement.

Bruce is a past premiership player for Mt Barker, and also tasted flag success coaching Meadows, before spending time in the SANFL system as an assistant coach at various clubs prior to returning to coach the Barkeroos in 2020.
