Manure stench

It’s high time the Environment Protection Authority stepped up and did whatever is necessary to guarantee the community the right to breathe fresh air.

NOWHERE in the Environmental Improvement Program document that was made available this week to the communities of Kanmantoo and Callington has Neutrog acknowledged that the primary cause of the stench that affects the lifestyles, health and businesses of Kanmantoo residents is the chicken manure piles that occupy most of its 17ha site on Mine Road.

Until those piles are removed the problem will continue.

The stench gets worse in spite of the actions already undertaken and none of the proposed actions address this problem.

It’s high time the Environment Protection Authority stepped up and did whatever is necessary to guarantee the community the right to breathe fresh air.

The situation is intolerable and with Neutrog’s stated plans for growth as a result of its crowd funding, things are only going to get worse.
