Hills fashion will be on show this weekend at a charity event to raise money for cancer research.
The Courier is holding a charity fashion show at Cobbs Hill Estate on June 15 to showcase local businesses and raise money for Breast Cancer Research through the Hospital Research Foundation.
The event is being run in collaboration with the owners of Mt Barker store Luna Belle Boutique and will be hosted by Adelady’s Tory Bickley and Kristy Zammit.
Courier editor Elisa Rose said the event was about supporting local business while also giving back to the community.
“As a family-run Hills business, The Courier team is passionate about supporting local,” she said.
“There are so many amazing small businesses in the Hills and we’re excited to give them the chance to showcase their products and encourage people to shop in their own backyard.
“We decided to use the event to raise money for cancer research as a way of giving back to our community and supporting the great work done by our medical researchers.
“Cancer is a devastating disease that touches so many lives and so Breast Cancer Research is a cause that we’re proud to support.”
Tickets to the fashion show will include a goodie bag, nibbles and a drink on arrival.
There will also be live entertainment and a silent auction on the night.
Luna Belle Boutique co-owners Emily Fels and Tiffany Cazzolato said the event would showcase a variety of men’s and women’s fashion.
“Putting together the show, we have been pleasantly surprised with the variety of styles and brands stocked right here in the Hills,” Ms Fels said.
“There are so many options right on our doorstep and this way you can shop locally and support small businesses while looking stylish at the same time.”
Ms Cazzolato said it was lovely to see the number of brands on offer locally.
“It was really nice to see brands like Country Road, Frank Green, Levi’s and Converse that normally I go to the city for in local businesses just down the street,” she said.
The Fashion in the Hills Charity Fashion Show starts at 7pm.
