Budget feedback

WELL done Mt Barker, fail Alexandrina!

So only Councillors Lewis, Coomans and Farrier acted on the feedback from ratepayers and residents on the diabolical train wreck of a budget being foisted on the community.

The other councillors present, Gardner, Rebbeck, Keily, Maidment, Carter, Stewart, many rumored to not be running next time, leave a legacy of big tourist projects, debt and hardship for those in our community least able to bear it. Mayor Parkes was uncharacteristically silent.

One hopes the next council will take a leaf out of the Mt Barker Council’s book and not only listen to its community who, with a similar amount of feedback received, lowered their proposed rates.
