Last Saturday was a special occasion for the Echunga and Mt Barker clubs as they paid respect to three club greats during Round 15 Hills Football League (HFL) Division 1 A-grade action.
The annual Purple Ribbon match was played in the honor and memory of Vic Jones of Echunga and Mt Barker duo Peter Murphy and Mark Whitington, who were all tragically taken too soon by pancreatic cancer.
