Mt Barker’s new $11.6m emergency department (ED) will open next week, increasing the town’s emergency care capacity threefold with 17 treatment bays.
The current ED at Mt Barker Hospital only has four treatment bays and a resuscitation bay, but the new ED has specialist bays, including paediatric short-stay bays, negative pressure, rehabilitation, surgical and palliative care beds.
