The doctors who staff the Gumeracha hospital have walked away from the contract, after negotiations with SA Health broke down this month.
GPs from Gum Medical, which has staffed the hospital for more than a century, will finish at the end of February. It comes about a year after it was announced the hospital’s emergency department would remain permanently closed due to staffing challenges.
