Mt Barker residents can help make their town a little greener by joining National Tree Day on Sunday, July 29. Housing estate Bluestone is hosting a tree planting day for the Planet Ark initiative, with the aim of establishing plants in new reserve areas and along the rail corridor. Residents can meet at the reserve on Trapper Court for a hot drink and morning tea before the planting from 9.30am. There will be children’s activities and experts from the Urban Biodiversity Unit on hand to offer advice. Participants should bring shovels and gloves.
