Pupils get ‘back stage pass’

Cornerstone College students gained an insight into the music industry when they were visited by nation-wide touring event Rock the Schools last week.

Year 11 students Stephie Curtis and Georgia Missen learn to use the audio editing program Pro Tools.

The event, which has visited four Hills high schools, gave students a behind-the-scenes look into career opportunities within the industry.
Students took part in three workshops and the whole school enjoyed a lunch-time concert from Australian band Feeding Edgar.
In the live sound workshop students learnt how to use a sound desk and how a live concert worked behind the scenes.
They also learned how to use the sound editing program Pro Tools, and a music industry business workshop taught them the roles available in the industry and what they could do to get there.
