Petition against rodeo presented to council

Activists opposed to a rodeo scheduled for Lobethal in November have sent a petition signed by almost 700 people to the Adelaide Hills Council.
Animal Liberation SA also organised a number of speakers to address the public forum at last week’s council meeting.
One speaker was Lisa Wilson, a business owner at Woodside, who said she was shocked to receive a request to sponsor the event which she considered to be cruel to animals.
“Are we living in the dark ages?” she said.
“I don’t want people to visit my business and the Hills and think we are a bunch of hillbillies.”
