Maire, I am appalled at the damage these contractors have done. It seems that these workers have no respect for anything of beauty nor of anyone else's property. I also had a 6 metre high Camellia hedge purposefully removed to the ground by contractors accessing my neighbours property to trim their trees when we lived in Stirling. My wife and I had to employ a lawyer and endure a lengthy (over 1 year) legal battle with the company and their insurers. Finally they admitted fault and we were paid a measly $1500. Not enough to replace 1 fully mature 50 year old Camellia tree. There were over 8 completely removed illegally without permission. I would urge you to pursue the full force of the law, and hopefully you'll have some success. These people know how hard it is to prove their negligence, and that is why they continue to act the way they do. Simon Clarke
