Crafers West resident Cath Wangel discovered a new species of native animal last November – a “kanga-roof”. Ms Wangel was eating breakfast on her balcony off Hill Street, one of Crafers West’s steepest areas, when she watched a kangaroo take a huge leap over a fence and land on the roof of neighbor Vicky Anderson. The Andersons’ house is built into the side of the hill meaning the roof is closer to the ground than normal. It was difficult to tell who was more surprised, the roo or the dining neighbor. Fortunately the animal jumped back the way it came and was unhurt. Photo: Cath Wangel, Crafers West.
